REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a Rush approved secure web-based application used for building and managing online surveys and databases. While REDCap can be used to collect any type of data in any environment (including compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, FISMA, HIPAA, and GDPR), it is specifically positioned to support online and offline data capture for research studies and operations. Rush’s REDCap has been developed and approved to allow for safety and compliant collection of electronic informed consent and electronic signature capture. For more information regarding the REDCap system, please review the “REDCap Technical Overview” document.

Because Rush University Medical Center is offering REDCap to all Rush active users, Rush REDCap allows any Rush employee with a valid Rush User ID and password to log into REDCap at

The REDCap Personnel is remote, Monday – Friday; 8AM – 5:00PM. If you have questions, please email REDCap Support @

The REDCap Support Team conducts one Webex Office Hours session every Tuesday, 10AM – 12:00PM.  Users with questions regarding REDCap or are interested in listening to what other users are experiencing, are welcome to join.  Please send a request for registration to An email confirmation including the Webex information for the session will follow.

If you do not have a Rush network account and you are not a Rush employee, you will not be able to log into Rush REDCap. Please perform the following steps to request an external/collaborator REDCap account:
