Participant Payments System (PPS)

Participant Payments System (PPS) is an automated payment system from Advarra that can be integrated with OnCore, RUSH’s clinical trial management system (CTMS). PPS allows a study team to efficiently manage payments made to study participants, including both stipends and reimbursements.

PPS is administratively supported by the RUSH Office of Research Affairs (ORA).

Access & Training
Access to PPS is not granted until after the required training is completed.  All individuals on a study team who need PPS accounts must complete the eight required eLearning courses.   The Participant Payments System (PPS) for Study Teams learning program contains the eight required PPS training courses. This learning program is available for self-registration via the Rush Learning Hub. Courses should be taken sequentially and will take about four hours to complete.   

The eight courses in the learning program are:

  • Advarra PPS 100: Overview
  • Advarra PPS 110: Navigation
  • Advarra PPS 200: Managing Protocols
  • Advarra PPS 300: Managing Participant Records
  • Advarra PPS 310: Viewing Participant Lists, Troubleshooting Setup Errors
  • Advarra PPS 400:  Managing Visits, Stipends and Reimbursements
  • Advarra PPS 500:  Review Payments
  • Advarra PPS 510:  Replacing Payment Cards
