eRAM

In conjunction with the Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC) and the Comparative Research Center (CRC), Key Solutions, Inc. has designed and developed this e-Protocol Management System (aka eRAM) to strengthen the animal care and use program at RUMC, enhance the protection of animal subjects involved in the research, and better meet ethical standards and regulatory research compliance requirements. eRAM is a web-based electronic protocol management system that automates many animal research processes including the research protocol approval process.

eRAM is used for IACUC application and amendment request submission, review, and approval. 

eRAM also aids in the management of active animal research protocols through:

• Adding personnel to animal use projects
• Project funding change requests
• Invoicing and Reporting
• Animal Census Management
• Printing all bar-coded cage cards via request
• Animal purchasing requests
• Animal transfer requests
• Rodent split/wean requests

eRAM is supported by the Comparative Research Center (CRC) in partnership with Research IS. The CRC central office is located in Cohn 206. Personnel is onsite and remote, Monday – Friday; 8am – 4:30pm.

Registration and Information

eRAM training is included in the IACUC-required AAALAS training courses. Following completion of this training, users will gain access to eRAM through using their Rush Login Credentials.

Personnel should follow up with their Principal Investigators (PIs) to ensure they are added via eRAM amendment to any existing protocols to which they will be needing access.
